ChatGPT Print to PDF missing messages? Here's why

You printed a ChatGPT chat to PDF, and the file stops partway through, starts in the middle, or has blank pages.

Why it happens

Print to PDF saves what your browser has on the page. In long chats, ChatGPT often doesn't keep every message loaded at once. Messages that aren't loaded don't get printed. The chat's layout is also built for a scrolling screen, not for paper, so long code blocks and wide tables can get cut at the page edge.

Quick things to try first

These help with medium chats. For long chats they often aren't enough.

Get the whole chat into a PDF

  1. Install the AIChatExport Chrome extension and sign in to a free account at aichatexport.xyz.
  2. Open the ChatGPT conversation you want.
  3. Click the extension, then Export Conversation.
  4. The chat opens on aichatexport.xyz. Download it as a PDF or TXT file (Markdown on Pro).

For regular ChatGPT chats, the extension pulls the whole conversation from ChatGPT itself, including messages not loaded on screen. Images and canvas documents show as placeholders or are left out. The extension sends the chat to our server to build your file.
